Mechanised glass celestial globe, 1742-1750. The globe was made by John Senex. It is a very crudely engraved glass sphere showing the principal stars and figures of the constellations, the celestial equator, polar circles, and tropic circles. The ecliptic is marked with two calendars, the Gregorian and the Julian.
