Kouros. Parian marble statue. Archaic Greek, ca. 510-500 BCE. Found in the area of the Mesogeia, Attica. The statue stood on top of the grave of a young Athenian aristocrat, Aristodikos. The plasticity of the muscles and the movement of the arms indicates the transition from late Archaic to early Classical.
