Antinoos, the youth from Bithynia favorite of Emperor Hadrian. Upon his death he was heroised and worshipped. This marble statue found in the Sanctuary in Delphi owes its perfect preservation to the oils used in antiquity to polish the surface of cult statues. Hadrianic, ca. 130-138 CE.
