Piramide di Caio Cestio against the Porta San Paolo in Rome. The funerary monument was built in ca. 12 BCE. The city gate was built in 270-275 at the time of the construction of the Aurelian city walls. It was enlarged by Emperor Maxentius in 306-12, and again in the early 5th century by Emperor Honorius.
