Mantelpiece clock. 1919. Made for the guest bedroom of a Victorian terrace house in Northampton, remodeled for W.J. Bassett-Lowke. Veneered oak with a black stencilled chequerboard pattern. The clock face is decorated with squares of mother-of-pearl and ivory with wooden numbers. Inv. 19,800,519.10.
