Processional cross, so-called Beuth-Schinkel cross (back). Mosan art, ca. 1160-1170. The five plaques show scenes of Saint Helen, mother of Emperor Constantine, and the Legend of the True Cross. The object was possibly meant to incorporate a relic from the True Cross. Gold and enamel. The front panel is at the British Museum (see ART331193). Inv. O-1973, 187-189.
