Stone kneeling figure of Chalchiuhtlicue, Aztec, Mexico,1325-1521. This stone sculpture represents Chalchiuhtlicue, the Aztec water goddess. She wears the traditional shawl (quechquemitl), trimmed with tassels, over a long skirt. Her eyes were probably made of shell, like in many other Aztec sculptures.
