Nautilus shell standing-cup (Nautilus pompilius) forms the bowl of the standing-cup. Netherlands, 1600-1650 (with later additions to stem and foot). Supported at sides by two bands, representing tritons holding dolphins; band formed of mask of Pan on front; top, figure of Neptune on horseback. Pierced, burnished, chased, embossed, engraved, stamped nautilus; shell, silver, 29.1 x 19.6 x 9.6 cm. Waddesdon Bequest WB.
