MEXICO, the Tro-Cortesianus or Madrid codex combines the codex Troano and Cortesiano: it is only one codex; Brasseur de Bourbourg facsimile (1869); Maya culture. These are two representations of the same god, the god âFâ: one is wearing a sort of parrot as a head piece; on the head of the other one, an eagle. A great number of Maya gods are only named by letters and their characteristics are symbols. Lines and dots are numbers, often elements of the calendar. Glyphs are a writing system where certain glyphs express concepts, others syllables. This codex is made of horoscopes and calendars in order to assist the priests in their predictions and ceremonies.
