MEXICO, the Tro-Cortesianus or Madrid codex combines the codex Troano and Cortesiano: it is only one codex; Brasseur de Bourbourg facsimile (1869); Maya culture. God āDā sitting on numbers (represented by lines and dots, often elements of the calendar) holding cocoa plants; cocoa beans were used as money. A great number of Maya gods are only named by letters and their characteristics are symbols; they are elements not permitted for human beings. A few glyphs (writing system where certain glyphs express concepts, others syllables) have been identified. This codex is made of horoscopes and calendars in order to assist the priests in their predictions and ceremonies.
