Buddhist Shwe-nandaw monastery, in Mandalay (19th century) was one of the pavilion in the Royal palace of King Mindon and he died there; on the façade of this sculptured teak wood monastery, numerous orants and, to the left, Thagyamin, the God Indra, holding the  royal« fly wisk », the yak tail  fan. Dismantled and reconstructed after his death to be transformed into a monastery, it escaped the bombs that destroyed the palace during WWII.
