MEXICO, the Tro-Cortesianus or Madrid codex combines the codex Troano and Cortesiano: it is only one codex; Brasseur de Bourbourg facsimile (1869); Maya culture. In a Maya codex, when there is no symbol to identify the gods, they are called Old or Young Gods. Here, one Young God sculpting the face of the God āCā. Lines and dots are numbers, often elements of the calendar. On the left, glyphs are a writing system where certain glyphs express concepts, others syllables. This codex is made of horoscopes and calendars in order to assist the priests in their predictions and ceremonies.
