One half of a gold shoulder-clasp inlaid with cloisonné filled alternately with millefiori glass and garnets. A loop and chain is attached to the top of the clasp and fixed to a plain gold pin with an animal-head terminal in filigree. Excavated from the Sutton Hoo ship burial mound, late 6th, early 7th century (circa AD 560/70-610). Length: 12.7 cm, width: 5.4 cm; chain length is 5.1 cm; pin length is 5.7 cm).
