The Temple of Apollinopolis magna at Edfu. From: Voyage dans la Basse et la Haute Egypte, pendant les campagnes du général Bonaparte [Travels in Upper and Lower Egypt, during  the Campaigns of General Bonaparte] (Paris, 1802). Plate 58 (1).  It was dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus, and built between 237 and 57 BCE (Ptolemaic period). Engraving, 20 x 37.8 cm.
