Funerary mannequin. Melanesia, Vanuatu, Malamp,a Island of Malekula, early, 20th CE. The rambaramp is a funerary effigy commissioned by a high representative during his lifetime. On the figure are the signs of his distinction. The rambaramp is publicly exposed during the funeary ritual. At its closure, only the modelled skull is convserved under the roof of the men's house.
