The Lake of Bizerte in Antiquity and dedicatory inscription of the thermes of a maritime villa. Roman, mid 5th CE. From the pavement of the frigidarium of the maritime villa of Sidi Abdallah (Menzel Bourguiba) near Bizerte, Tunisia. A big fish shown devouring a human is a humoristic effect. The inscription relates to the villa Fundus Bassianus which belonged to Sidonius, a member of the Bassianus family originating from Campania.
