Seated male orebok statuette. Guinea-Bissau, Bissagos archipelago, island of Caravela, Bidyogo people, 18th(?)-early 19th CE. Seated on a stool, the figure takes the name of orebok, which means simultaneously spirit, soul, and deceased.
