Frontispiece was not at the very beginning of the album, but followed the depiction of eight Vajrapa?i (thunderbolt bearers), the last of which is on the back, holding up a vajra, identified by Chinese inscription (OA 1919,0101,0.212.2). Painted in ink and colours on paper. Five Dynasties, 901-950 (circa). Excavated/Findspot: Qian Fo Dong, Ch.xi.001-2 (from bundle Ch.xi at Cave 17 at Ch’ien Fo Tung (pinyin: Qian Fo Dong))
