Magna Graecia (Great Greece) : Small earthenware pillar with Greek epigraph. 6th BCE. From San Mauro Forte; the small pillar is pyramidal in shape and rests on a small base with moldings; the inscription, in late Archaic Achaenian alphabet, arranged from the top to the bottom on the four faces, carries a dedication in verse to Heracles. The author of the object and dedication is a potter Nikomachus who asks to have great fame among men in exchange for the god. Terra cotta fragmented 38,5 x 13 x 6,5 cm.
