Chef De Piece (France), 1790-99; Company: Soehnee L'Aine et Cie, France. Cotton; block-printed on plain weave with blocks for three reds, two purples, black, mustard, blue and yellow. Warp: 24 cm (9 1/2 in.). Weft: 87 cm. (34 1/4 in.) Both selvedges present. Printed on front: "Manufre de Toiles Peintes de Soehnee L'aine et C a Munster Depmt du Haut Rhin" in black. And; "MSA" within box in black, "CHK" within oval in red, "S, K(or H)eckir"within box in purple, "AMK" within box in purple, "Casses 3" in black, "53 over 170" within box, printed twice. No stamps on back of fabric. Pattern: Not present.; Gift of Cora Ginsburg (1994-80-31).
