Mummy Trappings. Painted wooden mummy portrait of Didyma. A.D. 180-200. Egypt, Roman Period. An inscription in Greek indicates that the owner of this portrait was a girl named 'Didyma' who was seven years of age when she died. The shape of the panel is typical of those from Antinoopolis. Production Place: Egypt. Painted in encaustic and tempera on sycamore wood, depth 1.5 cm, height 34.8 cm, width 19.2 cm. Inv. E.5.1981.
