Duerer, Albrecht (1471-1528)
Woman of Nuremberg. Signed and dated 1500. The German inscription tells us that she is a Nuremberg woman dressed for church, a study for the woman's costume. This particular drawing was used in his woodcut of the Betrothal of the Virgin in which the figure appears in reverse. Drawing with brush in watercolour, 31.6 x 17.1 cm. Inv. 1895-9-15-973.
