Settevecchi, Lodovico (ca. 1520-1590)
Detail of the ceiling of the Chamber of Dawn: "The Setting Sun" or "Dusk". The Chamber, formerly Ercole II d'Este's private room, was known in the 16th CE as the mirror chamber, from which the name of the entire apartment of representation created for Alfonso II derives. The vault scenes are thought to represent an allegory of human life.
