"Revenge for the murder of vom Rath," the morning after the Kristallnacht in Zeven, near Bremervoerde, November 10. 1938. Ernst vom Rath (1909-1938), diplomat at the German embassy in Paris, was killed by Herschel Grynszpan. His murder became a pretext for the launching of the Kristallnacht (Night of the Broken Glass) in November 1938.
