Fire escape of Asch building after the Triangle fire, New York City, 1911. The only fire-escape on the Asch building. It hung in a closed court which was full of fire in a few moments. By this fire-escape it would have taken three hours to empty the three upper floors of the building. Photographic print, 12 x 14 cm.
