attributed to: The Crucifixion with Saints. About 1465-90. The figures are, from left to right: Saints Scholastica, Mary Magdalen and Anne, the Virgin, crucified, Saints John the Evangelist, , Benedict, Agnes. Saint Anne is depicted with the Madonna and Child in her arms, while Saint Andrew carries the X-shaped cross upon which he was martyred, and Saint Agnes is accompanied by a lamb. From the Benedictine Abbey at Liesborn, Westphalia, Germany. Oil on oak, 38.4 x 118.4 cm. Bought, 1854 (NG262).
