Derveni krater with depiction of Dionysus and Ariadne. Bronze and tin alloy volute krater with high and bas-reliefs. Late 4th century BCE, Hellenistic. The original use was as a wine vessel. It later became the funerary urn of Astiouneios, son of Anaxagoras, a Thessalian nobleman. Found in Tomb B, Derveni, near Thessaloniki.
