The Donne Triptych. The Virgin and Child with Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Saint Barbara and Donors. About 1478. The triptych was probably commissioned from Memling in Bruges by Sir John Donne of Kidwelly, a Welshman resident in Calais, in the late 1470s. Oil on oak, 71 x 70.3 cm. Acquired under the terms of the Finance Act from the Duke of Devonshire's Collection, 1957 (NG6275.1).
