After the revolution of the guilds in 1358 in Augsburg, Germany, they are allowed to participate in the administration of the city. One member of each group: weavers, bakers, fur makers, butchers, merchants, and beer brewers enter the council hall in which 30 Patricians are seated. On the pillow in the center are a bible and the keys for the money chest. 17th century illustration. Photo: Lutz Braun.
