Lhasa, capital of Tibet, with the Potala, "the Mountain of Buddha", the palace of the Dalai Lama. Going back to the 7th CE, the current palace was begun in 1645 by the 5th Dalai Lama. Its 13 floors and walls of over 100 meters height dominate the city's skyline. The main components are the White Palace (administrative building) and the Red Palace (religious building).
