Three-story Pagoda, Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto. This temple was founded in 778, and building started in 798. In 1633 Iemitsu Tokugawa commissioned most of the buildings standing today. The temple belongs to the Japanese Tendai school of Mahayana Buddhism.
