Naiku Shrine (inner shrine). Ise Jingu. This shrine is officially known as Kotaijingu and dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, sun goddess and perhaps the most important Shinto deity. Ise Jingu shrines are the holiest of the Shinto religion. Tradition says they were established in 4 BCE.
