Rodin, Auguste (1840-1917)
Pierre de Wissant draped and nude. Bronze statue, 1886-87. Study of one of the Burghers of Calais, the sculptural group that was commissioned to Rodin by the city of Calais in 1884. Rodin created first a nude version of the statue, draping it in a later study to retain the shape of the human body in the final work.
