Acteon devoured by his dogs. Metope from the Temple E, Selinunte. Classical Greek, ca. 460-450 BCE. Acteon is depicted while he is in the process of transforming into a stag by Artemis. He has an animal skin tied around his neck and fragments of stag horns are still visible despite the erosion of the sandstone.
