Ekklesiasterion and Oratorium of Phalaris, Agrigento. The Ekklesiasterion, was used for political meetings and dates from ca. 4th-3rd century BCE. The so-called Oratorium of Phalaris owes its name to the belief that it was a part of the Palace of the 6th century BCE tyrant of the city. It seems to have been a small 1st century BCE temple transformed into a Christian oratorium by the Normans.
