Notre-Dame des Doms d'Avignon Cathedral next to the Popes' Palace. The cathedral was built in a pure Provencal Romanesque style. Additions were made in the 14th and 15th centuries, and Baroque galleries were built in the 17th century. The most prominent feature of the cathedral is the gilded statue of the Virgin Mary from the 19th century, on top of the western tower.
