Relief depicting the Assyrian Queen Assur-Scharrat, wife of Assurbipal. 668-627 BCE. Limestone. 65 x 70 cm. The composite of numerous fragments of relief depicts the enthroned queen with a battlement with three towers. Her right hand is raised in greeting, the left holds a flower. Belonging to, but not adapting to the relief are more fragments of an incomplete cuneiform inscription, from which the name of the queen is interpreted. Produced in Assyria. Inv. VA 8847.
