Hagia Sofia (Church of the Divine Wisdom). South gallery. This Byzantine church was commissioned by Emperor Justinian and built in 537-548 CE by Anthemius of Tralles and Isidore of Miletus. It was transformed into a mosque after the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottomans, and into a museum in 1935 by Kemal Ataturk.
