Polykleitos of Argos (5th BCE)
Diadoumenos (youth binding a ribbon in his hair). Island marble statue. Ca. 100 BCE copy of a Classical Greek original of the Diadoumenos by Polykleitos from ca. 450-425 BCE. The tree trunk and the himation on it, forming a support of the statue are an addition of the copist. Found in the House of the Diadoumenos, Delos.
