Triptolemos, son of King Keleos, between Demeter and Persephone, In a scene of the Eleusian misteric ritual. Demeter. wearing a peplos and holding a sceptre, offers Triptolemus ears of wheat for mankind. Persephone. wearing a chiton and holding a torch, blesses Triptolemus with her right hand. Pentelic marble bas-relief. Classical Greek, ca, 440-430 BCE. This is the largest known votive relief. Its size could indicate that it was associated with the cult.
