Angelico, Fra (1387-1455)
King David. Ca. 1430. Pen and brown ink drawing, with purple wash, over stylus indications, some ruled, on vellum, 19.7 x 17.8 cm. The absence of drawings by Fra Angelico make it impossible to be totally confident that the British Museum's work is by him, however the physical type of the prophet with his tightly curled mass of curls and delicate features are comparable with those in the artist's paintings from around 1430.
