Death of Alaric I, King of the Visigoths at Cosenza, Italy, 410 (1872). Alaric (c370-410) was king of the Visigoths (Western Goths) from 395. In 410 he became the first Germanic leader to capture Rome. He died shortly afterwards, probably of fever.
