Grand Square looking southwest, Royal Naval Hospital, Greenwich. From left to right: Queen Mary Court, King William Court and King Charles Court. The whole complex was built between 1662 and 1752. The main architects were: John Webb, Sir Christopher Wren, Nicholas Hawksmoor and Sir John Vanbrugh. It served the original function of hospice for injured sailors until 1869. It was then occupied by the Royal Naval College. Since 1998 it houses the University of Greenwich and the Trinity College of Music.
