Western view of Wellington Arch, London. It is also known as Constitution Arch and, originally as Green Park Arch. This triumphal arch, and Marble Arch were planned in 1825 by King George IV to celebrate British victories in the Napoleonic Wars. It was built in 1826-30 on a design of Decimus Burton. In 1912 the sculpture by Adrian Jones depicting the Angel of Peace descending on the Chariot of War was added.
