South Cathedral (Nantang, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Xuanwumen Church), Beijing. The original church was built in 1650-1703 by the German Jesuit Johann Adam Schall von Bell on the site of the house of Matteo Ricci with financial support of the emperor. It was destroyed and rebuilt three times. The present church reflects the 1904 reconstruction on the original design.
