South Transept and Crossing Tower of York Minster from Southeast. This Gothic cathedral is the largest in northern Europe. It was built in several stages. The transept is Early English Gothic and dates from 1220-1260. The Decorated Gothic nave dates from 1250-1350. The chancel and towers are Perpendicular Gothic and date from 1361-1472.
