Original helmet from the ship-burial at Sutton Hoo, Suffolk, England. Anglo-Saxon, early 7th CE. An iron helmet covered with decorative panels of tinned bronze. The helmet was badly damaged and has been rebuilt. A complete reconstruction has also been made. H.: 31.8 cm. Inv. M&ME 1939,10-10,93.
