Hall of Central Harmony (Zhong He Dian). Outer Court, Imperial Palace (Forbidden City), Beijing. This hall was originally built in 1420 by emperor Yongle with the name of Hall of Overwhelming Glory (Hua Gai Dian). In 1562 it was named Hall of Central Extremity (Zhong Ji Dian). It was rebuilt in 1627 and was given its present name in 1645. Here the Emperor rested before attending important ceremonies.
