Construction of the façade started at the end of the 13th CE. Detail of the covering of the four pillars of the doors. Marble slab with bas-reliefs executed between 1320 and 1330 by Lorenzo Maitani with the help of Sienese and Pisan craftsmen. Biblical scenes from creation to Jabal (son of Lamech): six series of bas-reliefs of an ivy plant whose branches divide the main scenes.
