Monument to Niccolò Machiavelli: Philosopher,Historian, Politician. 1787. Marble and bronze. Above the sarcophagus there is a statue that represents a female figure, the allegory of politics. In her right hand she holds a medallion with the portrait of Machiavelli, in the left the symbols of Politics, History and Poetry. On the sarcophagus is the family coat of arms, and on the base a Latin epigraph whose translation i is "To such a great name, no epitaph is adequate".
